I hope that you enjoyed the nice weather this weekend!
A few highlights this week:
We started a shared presentation in our classroom! The kids are super excited to create a slide on our slideshow with their reading partners. Our slideshow is on weather and the purpose of this presentation is for the kids to research and create a slide on one aspect of weather. The kids will then present their slide to the class and teach us what they learned. In science we are learning about weather so this ties in nicely with that unit. We have just begun this past week so keep checking back to see what the kids are doing :) The slide show is linked under the student project tab.
We had fun in math playing with shapes and seeing how we can make a shape out of other shapes. We also created some fun pictures using our shapes. Please continue to work with telling time to the hour and half hour with your child!
On Friday, after we did some reading with our reading buddies, we went outside with them and drew some chalk pictures. The kids were encouraged to draw something that represents Earth Day. It was fun to enjoy the warm sun and fresh air with our buddies!
If you haven't done so, please send in your child's field trip money by Friday. We need to send out a check to John Ball Zoo early the following week. Also, if you are able to attend, please return the slip at the bottom of the form. If you have any questions, please let me know!
