What a beautiful weekend! I hope this weather is here to stay for a bit :)
We had a busy, fun-filled week this past week. First, we had our first writer's celebration. The kids have been working hard on writing small moment stories since the beginning of the year. During the past week, the kids picked a story they felt was their best and did some editing to their story and adding color to their pictures. They were then able to share their story using the overhead while we sipped on some juice. The kids really enjoyed listening to each others' stories!
On Thursday there will be an all school skating party at Tarry Hall from 6:30 - 8:30.
If you haven't turned in your conference slip confirming your times, please do so as soon as possible. Looking forward to meeting with all of you!
Halloween is fast approaching! We will have our class Halloween party on Monday, October 31 from 2:45 - 3:30. We have some parents providing snacks and games/activities so it will be a fun time :) Thank you to all who volunteered to help with this party! Please don't send your child to school in their costume. We will help them change into their costumes after lunch.
We will also be doing a costume parade to The Laurels on Halloween day. Weather pending, we will be walking to the Laurels for our Halloween parade on the 31st. We will leave school around 1:00, walk down Park Ave. to Van Buren. We will take a right on to Van Buren down to 36th. Turn right on 36th Ave. Then walk toward Curtis. Turn right onto Curtis, taking it back to school. If you are interested in attending our parade we are asking parents to line the parade route rather than going in through the Laurels with us as space is extremely limited. If it does rain we will not be having an indoor parade. Teachers will have a rain plan for their individual classes.
Have a great week!
